How to Return from AWOL Using a Simplified Algorithm: Ministry of Defense Explanation.

According to the Ministry of Defense, soldiers who have deserted their military unit before November 29, 2024, have the opportunity to return to service by March 1, 2025. In this case, all payments and social guarantees will be restored within 72 hours, and soldiers will be allowed to transfer to another unit with a recommendation letter through Army+.
Algorithm for Returning from Unauthorized Absence:
- Submit a request to Army+ for returning to service after unauthorized absence.
- Arrive at the nearest military law enforcement unit within 24 hours.
- Receive consultation on site and safely reach the reserve battalion.
- Return to service within 72 hours and receive social guarantees and monetary payments.
- Submit another request to Army+ for a change of service location, adding a recommendation letter from the unit where they wish to go.
- Receive approval within 72 hours and prepare for departure to the new unit.
It is also worth noting that after March 1, it is still possible to return to service, but not through the simplified algorithm via Army+. In this case, the process of reinstatement may take several months, and financial support and other guarantees will not be restored until that moment.
It should be noted that over the last week, more than 300 soldiers have submitted applications for return to the army through the Army+ application after unauthorized absence from their unit.
Unauthorized absence from a military unit most often occurs not at the front, but in training centers, as the data shows. Combat units reported the least number of cases of unauthorized absence by soldiers.
