Military expert, reserve major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksii Hetman claims that crossing the Dnipro River will be a challenging task for the Russians. Even if the information about the preparation of 300 boats is true, it will not allow them to successfully initiate the operation.
According to Hetman, 300 boats can transport about 1,500 people, which corresponds to one and a half or two battalion tactical groups. However, this is insufficient for crossing the Dnipro, which will be a challenging task for the enemy.
According to Hetman, it is possible that the 300 boats are intended to create a foothold and then transport heavy equipment and build pontoon crossings. However, the foothold must be larger in size - 10 kilometers wide and with the same internal depth. It is important that its surface is a square measuring 10 by 10 kilometers or at least a larger part, so that it is not easy to shell it with mortars. - Hetman explained.
Despite the fact that the Russians' preparation for crossing the Dnipro poses a threat, many of them may not be able to reach their destination and will become 'food for the crabs.'
According to Hetman, this can easily be destroyed by our cluster shells. He believes that this is more simply a distracting maneuver, as shelling boats from the right bank is like shooting in a gallery.
