Will Ukrainian Refugees Stay in Canada: Government Position.

The Minister of Immigration stated that Canada does not plan to grant permanent residency to all Ukrainians due to the conflict in Ukraine, as this could create a negative signal. Currently, about 300,000 Ukrainian refugees are in Canada, where they can apply for permanent residency status.
The Canadian government allows Ukrainians to remain in the country and seek ways to legalize their status without mass deportations while the conflict in Ukraine continues and guarantees the right to apply for permanent resident status.
In Canada’s strengthened immigration policy, supporting refugees is important, as well as avoiding potential negative consequences for relations between countries due to the conflict in Ukraine. The Minister of Immigration emphasized the importance of the government’s position and support for Ukrainian migrants in the process of legalizing their status in Canada.
