The Cheapest Apartment by the Sea. How to Buy Property in Odessa for $8 Thousand.

'Glavkom' examined what kind of housing the residents of Odessa can afford for such a modest price.
Communal Apartment near the Coast for $6 Thousand.
The cheapest housing on the secondary market in Odessa that can be found online costs $6 thousand or 247 thousand UAH. Realtor services cost an additional $1.5 thousand. For this price, a one-bedroom apartment in a room in a five-story building on Zholio Curie Street, 34 (Peresyp district of the city), only 2 km from the Black Sea, can be purchased.
- Communal apartments are a phenomenon that appeared in Ukraine in 1919 when housing in the USSR began to be nationalized. Usually, one family occupies no more than one room, and all residents share the kitchen, toilet, and bathroom.
- The housing object considered by 'Glavkom' is privatized, but the term 'communal' is still used in the market, denoting the shared living of a group of people in an apartment.
The apartment has one separate room with an area of 17.5 square meters, with two beds, a table with two chairs, a television, a closet, and a fridge. The bathroom and kitchen are shared with other residents. There is a quality renovation, metal-plastic window, new radiators, and ownership confirmed by a donation agreement. The area has convenient transport links, two schools, a kindergarten, and a shopping center nearby.
Room Without Furniture for $6.5 Thousand.
Another option in the Peresyp district is a room in communal housing for $6.5 thousand or 268 thousand UAH. The room, with an area of 9.7 square meters, is already privatized and is located on the second floor of a five-story building on Cossack Black Sea Street. Central heating is available, but furniture must be purchased by the buyer themselves. The bathroom is tiled with modern tiles, and there is an electric stove in the kitchen.
The seller promises a very clean entrance and good neighbors for the future owner of the room.
The survey focuses on the possibilities of acquiring affordable housing in Odessa at a modest price. The research indicates active growth in demand and rising prices for real estate in the region, which may affect housing affordability for city residents.
