Security guards violate the rights of Ukrainians in supermarkets: how to counteract lawlessness.

Ukrainians were informed about violations of customer rights in supermarkets
Experts from the 'Consumer Rights Protection' organization reported that many security guards in supermarkets have no right to demand payment from customers for damaged goods. If a guard tries to influence a client in this way, it is illegal, and the customer can contact the police to protect their rights. Only store sellers should address discussions about products, and the responsibility for the presence of goods with damaged packaging lies with the store, not the buyer.
'Security guards do not have the right to decide on behalf of customers regarding the purchase of goods. If they try to force payment for damaged goods, it is a violation of the law. Therefore, victims can contact law enforcement agencies,' experts clarified.
In case of a dispute over damaged goods, customers are advised to demand a review of the recordings from surveillance cameras, which can confirm or refute their connection to the damage of the product. If the dispute continues and the video recordings do not help, the most effective solution would be to call the police for an objective resolution of the situation.
It often happens that cashiers refuse to accept certain banknotes or coins, citing a lack of change. According to the law, cashiers are obliged to accept money of any denomination and are responsible for having enough change in the register. If a cashier refuses to accept money, the customer has the right to make their claims and can officially complain if necessary.
'The problem of insufficient change is not your problem; it is the cashier's problem. If they continue to say such things, you should contact the store management and inform them that the cashier is shifting their responsibilities onto you,' experts emphasized.
Let us remind you that Ukrainians were warned about the rising prices of products.
