Police reported how many offenders were detained on New Year's night.


300 people detained for violating curfew
During the New Year's night, 300 people were detained by the National Police for violating the curfew. This was noted by Anatoliy Seredynskyi, Deputy Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police, during a telethon. He mentioned that this figure is quite low. The detained individuals underwent preventive talks and checks for involvement in subversive activities, but no confirmations were received.

Analyzing the further situation, Seredynskyi noted that 25 reports of the use of pyrotechnics were registered, and law enforcement officers are taking necessary measures to document these violations.
Overall, the situation on New Year's night was calm, as the National Police received only 35 reports. This indicates that Ukrainians are conscious about celebrating the New Year. Most of the registered cases were related to being drunk or domestic conflicts.
It was also reported that the police will operate in an enhanced mode on the first day of the new year, January 1.
