Russia tried to block the conference in Montreal on the Peace Formula.

Russia attempted to block an international conference in Montreal
Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha reported that the Russian Federation tried to hinder the holding of an international conference in Montreal, dedicated to the implementation of the fourth point of the Ukrainian Peace Formula "Release of captives and deported persons".
According to him, the conference became truly global: participants represented all continents, and there were detailed discussions on the return of Ukrainian children, prisoners of war, and civilians.
The minister expressed joy that he agreed with partners to accelerate this process, while noting that the RF tried to obstruct the event and "acted destructively in a number of capitals".
The head of the MFA noted that Russia sees this topic as a major threat to itself because of its impunity, based on thousands of Ukrainian lives.
Sybiha stated that Ukraine has already freed more than 3 thousand people of Ukrainian origin as a result of 58 exchanges.
95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war were subjected to brutal beatings, which indicates the inclusion of torture in Russia's state policy, the minister emphasized.
According to Sybiha, more than 42 thousand civilians in Ukraine have been added to the Unified Register of Missing Persons. As a result of Russia's invasion, approximately 20 thousand people were deported and relocated, and at this moment, it was possible to return about 860 children home.
Journalists, clergymen, and severely wounded individuals are held in Russian captivity. In the opinion of the head of the MFA, it is necessary to develop a mechanism to rectify the current international system and make it operate properly in response to the challenges of this war.
