Russia transfers troops from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to Kursk region – Politico.


Ukraine reported that Russia relocated its troops from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions to the south of the country, specifically to Kursk and Belgorod regions. This occurred against the backdrop of a Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region. The Russian army transferred a small number of soldiers, but the exact number was not specified.
Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to attack across the Donetsk region, attempting to counterbalance the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Today also brought news that Ukrainian forces took control of 40 square kilometers in the Kursk direction. A total of 74 settlements are under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief, noted that the situation is under control, although the fighting continues.
President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the preparation of a humanitarian plan for an operation in the Kursk region, which Ukraine already controls over an area of 1,000 square kilometers on Russian territory.
