Syrsky insists on holding territories in Kursk — details.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky participated in a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where he reported on the situation at the front. He also insists on restoring positions and holding territories in Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation.
Oleksandr Syrsky reported this on Telegram on July 8.
What is the situation at the front
Syrsky stated that he briefed the president on the situation at the front, primarily on the hottest areas — including Pokrovsk, Lyman, Novopavlivka, and North Slobozhansky.
According to him, only yesterday, there were 188 combat engagements with the enemy. Overall, on July 7, the occupiers lost more than a thousand of their soldiers.
'Emphasized the actions of our units in active defense — preventing the enemy from advancing deep into our defense in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions and reaching the administrative borders of Dnipropetrovsk region', it is stated in the message.
Moreover, the Commander-in-Chief insists on restoring positions and holding territories in the Kursk and Belgorod regions of Russia. It is noted that the Defense Forces continue to tie down the enemy's northern group in the border area. According to him, the enemy will find no peace there.
There was also a discussion about the strengthening and improvement of the drone component of our defense capability – in defending our rear cities, in restraining enemy assaults on the line of combat contact, and in DeepStrike attacks on Russian territory.
Oleksandr Syrsky also emphasized that he is monitoring the development of intercepting drones. New crews are being formed, and pilots are being trained. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that the military needs as many high-tech UAVs as possible.
It is worth noting that recently Russians began to throw statements into the Ukrainian information space, claiming that fighting is already taking place in Dnipropetrovsk region. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted this information.
Additionally, ISW reported that the Russians are trying to surround Pokrovsk. Another one of their goals is to bypass the fortified line of the Defense Forces in the Donetsk region.
Summary: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky stated his insistence on restoring positions and holding territories in Kursk and Belgorod of the Russian Federation, reported on the situation at the front, and emphasized the importance of developing high-tech defense means, particularly UAVs.
