Tennis players who undergo fertility preservation procedures will be able to return to competition with a protected ranking.

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has decided to make life easier for female tennis players who plan to have children. Now, if they decide to start a family and undergo fertility-related procedures, they will still be able to compete for victories in tournaments. This will give them the opportunity to remain in the world of professional tennis without losing their chances and opportunities.
These new rules have received broad support from WTA players who believe that it will allow them to balance their professional careers with the desire to have children.
In addition, the association announced the establishment of a fund for female athletes that will provide support in matters of motherhood.
Some players have faced criticism for their connections with individuals who support the policies of the Russian government.
New rules in the WTA will allow female players to more easily combine professional sports with the desire to start a family. Additional support from the association may become an important step in the career development of athletes who have ambitions both on and off the court.
