Touching all when trying to exchange 100 dollars: Ukrainians warned about possible problems.

Ukrainians constantly face the problem of counterfeit dollars, especially 100-dollar bills. According to the National Bank, the number of identified counterfeits in the first half of 2024 was about 3.4 per million, which is less than before the war, when this figure was 7.1 per million.
Employees of the National Bank advise being cautious when exchanging money in public places, especially paying attention to counterfeiting protection. Since 100-dollar bills are often targeted by fraudsters, Ukrainians should be especially careful in this matter.
The US dollar is most often counterfeited, and it is often the 100-dollar bills that become the object of forgery.
To verify the authenticity of money, it is necessary to pay attention to various security features, such as watermarks, holographic stripes, microprinting, and others. The safest place to exchange money is in banking institutions where special equipment is used to verify the authenticity of the money.
Ukrainians are advised to be cautious when exchanging currency, especially in markets and on the streets. It is best to exchange money at licensed banking institutions with special equipment for verifying their authenticity and protection against counterfeiting.
