Trump assessed Putin's 'three-day ceasefire' and hinted it would affect the Kremlin's position.

Trump supported Putin's initiative for a ceasefire at the front
U.S. President Donald Trump responded positively to Vladimir Putin's idea of a short-term ceasefire at the front between Russia and Ukraine. He believes this step is important for further diplomatic activity and conflict resolution.
At a briefing on May 5, Trump emphasized that the circumstances are favorable for achieving mutual understanding between the two countries and also noted the parties' interest in peaceful resolution. A decrease in oil prices could also contribute to this process.
'As you know, Putin just announced a three-day ceasefire, which is not a major achievement, but it is a lot considering where we started,' Trump emphasized.
Trump also noted that in the past, Russia was not ready for such ceasefires due to a lack of communication with its predecessor. Putin announced this pause to coincide with the celebration of Victory Day in Russia, which will last from May 8 to May 11.
Earlier, a representative of the U.S. president rejected Putin's initiative, stating that the United States seeks long-lasting stability rather than temporary ceasefires.
Analysis:
Trump's support for Putin's initiative could contribute to improving relations between Ukraine and Russia. Peaceful resolution of the conflict is a key aspect of ensuring stability in the region and fostering peaceful dialogue between the parties.
