In Kharkiv, a traitor of Ukraine was tried for committing sabotage and explosions.

A court session took place in Kharkiv Oblast to consider the case of a local resident accused of treason and committing terrorist acts. For this, he received money from the Russian Federation.

Case Details
According to the court verdict, the defendant was recruited by a citizen of Ukraine who is now hiding in temporarily occupied Donetsk and performing intelligence functions in the GUR of the Russian Federation.
The defendant, at the behest of his handler, placed leaflets with Russian symbols on the territory of Kharkiv and photographed the flag of the Russian Federation against the backdrop of public places.
However, later the man began to carry out sabotage. In April 2024, he set fire to a relay cabinet in the area of the railway platform 'Karachivka' in the town of Pokotylivka. For committing this crime, he received 4 thousand hryvnias transferred to his bank account.
After that, the defendant began to prepare for sabotage on the railway. Together with a recruited accomplice, they planned to arrange a train accident in the section between the villages of Merefa and Tymchensky in Kharkiv Oblast.
In addition, in June 2024, the same executors installed a homemade explosive device under the front passenger seat of the car of a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter. As a result of the explosion, the defender of Ukraine suffered moderate injuries — ear injuries and hearing loss.
While preparing for another explosion involving a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter's car, he was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine.
