A Kyiv resident to be tried for 'selling' advertising permits
According to the head of the investigation department of the Shevchenkivsky district police, Mykola Habinet, the suspect turned out to be a 32-year-old resident of the capital.
The entrepreneur convinced the Kyiv resident that he had connections with officials responsible for advertising placements in the capital. He demanded 6 thousand dollars and a monthly 'payment' of 17 thousand hryvnias to ensure that the advertising structures remained in place.
'As part of the criminal proceedings, we established that the Kyiv resident approached the entrepreneur, who allegedly had influence over officials of the municipal enterprise of the Kyiv City State Administration responsible for advertising in the city. The perpetrator agreed to help but requested 6 thousand dollars in return. Additionally, to avoid the dismantling of the advertising means, the client had to pay 17 thousand hryvnias monthly,
The businessman was detained while receiving money for the 'service'. The pre-trial investigation is complete, and all materials have been submitted to court.
The perpetrator faces up to eight years in prison with property confiscation.
