Ukraine in 2025 should build a maximum of the existing 4 GW wind energy projects – investors.

The Director of the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency, Anastasia Vereshchinska, stated that Ukraine should ensure opportunities for investors in renewable energy. She pointed out that this is necessary to build a maximum of 4 GW of ready wind energy projects by 2025. This will help avoid energy shortages in the next heating season.
Vereshchinska emphasized that Ukraine currently lacks sufficient generating capacity. If new capacities are not created by 2025, the next heating season will also be characterized by an energy deficit.
To attract investors to new green energy projects, she proposes creating incentives for large consumers. Vereshchinska noted that the sooner such incentives are created, the more investments will be attracted.
One of the problems for investors in Ukraine is the lack of financial indicators that satisfy banks. Investors are willing to provide loans, but they need guarantees of investment return. Another problem is the non-payment of debts for generated electricity and the inability to insure investments.
According to Vereshchinska, investors in Ukraine plan to build more than 4 GW of wind power plants. They count on government support for the implementation of these projects.
Investors urge the government to prioritize the development of green energy by adopting specific decisions and measures. This will facilitate attracting investments, constructing new power plants, and reducing energy shortages in Ukraine.
