New rules to be introduced in EU airports: what will change for passengers.

From September 1st, passengers at European Union airports will have to comply with a new ban.
As reported by Schengen.News, the updated EU regulation introduces restrictions for passengers flying with European airlines. From September 1, 2024, these passengers will be required to have no more than 100 ml of liquid in their hand luggage, including aerosol and gel containers.
ACI Europe reported that this new ban will affect both passengers and airports.
In connection with this, new C3 scanners, which are highly efficient for baggage checks, have been installed in all airports.
Previously, passengers were allowed to carry any amount of liquid thanks to these scanners. They were also allowed to leave liquids together with electronic devices in their luggage, for example, laptops.
The cost of C3 scanners is almost eight times higher than that of standard machines, with maintenance costs being four times higher.
Many European countries have already started using C3 scanners in their airports, including Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Malta. The situation in the United Kingdom is different: C3 scanners are installed in only six small airports, and they are mandatory for complying with new rules regarding liquids.
