Vodafone warns: one message on Telegram can deprive you of your number.

A group of scammers pretending to be employees of the mobile operator Vodafone has decided to use a new scam scheme in the messenger Telegram. They send users messages about the 'expiration of the number' and recommend replacing the SIM card using links that could lead to the loss of personal data and financial losses.
'This is absolute fraud,' Vodafone confirmed, noting that the company never sends such messages through messengers.
The operator's representatives emphasized that all official messages for subscribers come only via the company's website, the My Vodafone mobile app, or the short number 111.
The Center for Counteracting Disinformation urged citizens to be cautious, not to click on suspicious links, and not to take any actions with their SIM cards without verifying the authenticity of the request through official communication channels. This will help avoid the theft of personal information and money.
Analysis:
Ensuring information security in the modern world is becoming increasingly important in the context of the spread of fraudulent schemes and misinformation via the Internet and social networks. It is essential to always verify the authenticity of received messages and to be vigilant to avoid cybercrime.
