IDPs can receive housing subsidies: what has changed in the application rules.

Internally displaced persons have the opportunity to receive a rental subsidy by signing a standard lease agreement.
This was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine on its official Telegram channel.
The standard lease agreement can be found on the website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (portal.pfu.gov.ua) or in the branches of the Pension Fund. To apply, it is only necessary to fill in personal data in the form.
The Ministry of Social Policy emphasizes that the contract is the main tool for protecting the rights of internally displaced persons. It prevents unexpected increases in rent and demands to vacate the premises within 24 hours.
Additionally, signing the contract provides landlords with additional guarantees of timely payment for housing. Therefore, the subsidy is granted only on the condition of signing an official lease agreement.
It is worth noting that the rental subsidy is available for families of internally displaced persons who rent housing and their rental expenses do not exceed 20% of their income.
It should also be noted that double subsidies can be received by internally displaced persons from occupied territories, combat zones, or those whose apartments have been destroyed.
Moreover, it is reported that a new support mechanism for internally displaced persons will be introduced on January 29, 2025, and will entail additional financial assistance for families who have lost their housing due to the war.
In addition, assistance may be provided to internally displaced persons whose rent expenses exceed 20% of their total income.
