Poll Results on American Support for Ukraine
A new study from Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll has shown that most American voters express support for military aid to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.
62% of respondents believe that the Trump administration should continue supplying weapons to Ukraine and impose sanctions against Russia.
64% support the idea of providing security guarantees in exchange for stopping the war.
66% are confident that Putin is trying to obstruct peace negotiations.
62% believe that Zelensky wishes to end the conflict.
However, within the group of voters, opinions are divided regarding the negotiation process. 79% of Republicans are satisfied, while 76% of Democrats and 55% of independents expressed dissatisfaction.
Interestingly, 59% of Americans think Trump is not tough enough in relations with Russia.
This study clearly illustrates the complex picture of public sentiment in the US regarding the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, where support for Ukraine prevails despite political differences.
The survey indicates American citizens' support for continuing military aid to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia, highlighting the general demand for the defense of democracy and security in the world. It also shows that the possibility of providing security guarantees for Ukraine from the US is popular among Americans, which could have significant implications for the future resolution of the conflict.
