EU and Britain Hit Russia's 'Shadow Fleet' with New Sanctions.

The European Union and the United Kingdom have introduced new sanctions against Russia
The European Union and the United Kingdom announced new sanctions against Russia, aimed primarily at restricting the activities of the so-called 'shadow fleet' that helps the Kremlin bypass international restrictions.
'The longer Russia conducts this war, the harsher our response will be,' emphasized the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas.
The EU has adopted the 17th package of sanctions, which concerns nearly 200 vessels of the Russian 'shadow fleet'. This was reported by the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, on social media. In addition to restrictions in maritime transport, the package also includes measures against hybrid threats and human rights violations.
At the same Time, the United Kingdom has imposed new restrictions on 100 targets in the military, energy, and financial sectors of Russia, including 18 vessels of the 'shadow fleet'. Among those affected by the sanctions is British citizen John Michael Ormerod and two Russian tanker captains.
New Restrictions and Measures Against the Russian Federation
One of the aims of these sanctions is to protect the lives of Ukrainians and collective security by disrupting Russia's military machine. London has also imposed restrictions on Russian financial institutions and other organizations that facilitate the evasion of international restrictions. There are also plans to strengthen the price cap on Russian oil to isolate the Russian economy.
London, along with its partners, is working to strengthen the price cap on Russian oil, while the European Union is developing new sanction packages to intensify international pressure on Russia and further isolate its economy.
British and European sanctions aim to counter Russian aggression and ensure security in the region.
