Putin has changed the goals of the war: a military official named two regions that Russia will concentrate on occupying.

The Russian occupiers are focusing on capturing the Donetsk and Luhansk regions
According to the head of the Reserve Council of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Timochko, the Russian occupiers plan to pay special attention to the capture of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He noted that these actions of the Russians began at the end of December and in January 2025.
Timochko emphasized that the enemy aims to occupy the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and replenish its reserves. He pointed out that Putin will not stop looking for ways to solve the problem, despite increasing losses and declining trends in replenishing the Russian army.
In his latest interview, Putin did not mention any change in the Ukrainian government, as he had previously stated. The Russian leader insists that his attack on Ukraine was motivated by 'the liberation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions'. According to Timochko, such a statement indicates that Putin wants to establish the limits of his possibilities after capturing the Donetsk region.
Currently, Russian troops are moving towards the Dnipropetrovsk region, but information about their location does not concern the community.
Deputy Commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, Maxim Zhorin, reported that the enemy has approached the Dnipropetrovsk region, but this does not concern the local area. Russian troops continue to attempt to penetrate around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, but so far they do not pose a real threat to the city.
