In Ukraine, prices for buckwheat, sunflower oil, and eggs have surged: how the costs have changed.


Prices for some basic food products, such as sunflower oil, buckwheat, and chicken eggs, have risen in Ukrainian supermarkets. This was reported by the Minfin portal.
Consumers are closely monitoring the price changes for these essential products. In March 2025, there were increases in the prices of these staple goods.
Sunflower Oil
Prices for sunflower oil reflect a significant increase compared to February. Refined 'Oleina' oil (850 ml) rose from 73.86 UAH to 77.55 UAH. The price of refined 'Shchedry Dar' oil (850 ml) increased from 77.48 UAH to 80.80 UAH.
Buckwheat
The cost of buckwheat has also increased. The average price for 1 kg of buckwheat groats rose from 33.05 UAH in February to 34.47 UAH in March. The difference between the lowest price at Auchan (28.90 UAH) and the highest at Megamarket (44.60 UAH) is 15.7 UAH, indicating price variability among retail chains.
Chicken Eggs
The biggest increase occurred with chicken eggs, regardless of the category:
- 'Kvotchka' C1 eggs (10 pcs): increase from 60.97 UAH to 72.10 UAH
- 'Yasensvit' C1 eggs (10 pcs): increase from 66.62 UAH to 68.76 UAH
- 'Yasensvit' C1 eggs (30 pcs): increase from 200.79 UAH to 215.10 UAH.
